No single moment in the Terminator series, however, is as shocking as the recent revelation that John Connor has become a villain in Genisys, transformed into a complex man-machine hybrid which defies any typical description of a Terminator. It's a bold step forward for the series and one that's been met with a fair level of derision by fans, but as with Jai Courtney's casting and all the other question marks, it remains to be seen whether such a wild left-turn actually works. On the plus side, at least if John is finally killed off, fans won't have to deal with him being recast again and again until the end of time. Silver linings...
