7 Awesome James Bond Fan Theories That Actually Improve The Films
5. Sherlock Is An MI6 Agent
This theory is a strange one, and probably one of the ideas most questionable in its believability, but if it has any grounding in reality at all, it's certainly an intriguing one. The theory has its background in the BBC TV series Sherlock, and delves into the complicated relationship between Holmes and his older brother Mycroft, who holds "a minor position in the British government". Throughout the programme, it is hinted that Mycroft in fact holds a far more important role, perhaps even to do with the secret service. Without a stable job, Sherlock may have worked for Mycroft when he needed money, being used as an MI6 field agent thanks to his remarkable intellect and cunning. However, disapproving of the moral grey areas that abounded in the job, he gave it up. This makes Mycroft Sherlock's superior, "M". Realistically, the whole idea has a vague whiff of daftness about it, but the thought of a Bond/Sherlock collaboration is nonetheless nothing short of thrilling.
