7 Best Henry Cavill Roles To Date

1. Geralt - The Witcher

The Witcher series on Netflix came along as Game of Thrones had wound down, looking set to fill that Westeros-shaped hole. While there is only one season to go on so far, that feat looks to be in a good place.

Cavill campaigned hard for the role of Geralt of Rivia. A self-professed superfan, he had spent many, many hours playing the video game adaptation and had read all of the books. When asked about his approach to the role, he said that he wanted to keep Geralt as close to the law of the novels as possible.

As viewers will know, Geralt is a man of few words. Cavill was then tasked with bringing as much personality as possible to the grunts and swearing that he was able to get in there. One of the bigger changes to the role he made from Doug Cockle's performance in the games was to lend his own English accent, and to 'grit' it up as much as possible.

Cavill could be described as having the career that dreams are made of. He gets to play Superman, which is a role that many actors aspire to. He also plays Geralt, who has been a huge inspiration to him for years. He sees in Geralt the strive to do the right thing, something that he says is a trait he most wants to have for his own.

With the range of talent that Cavill has shown on this list alone, it is clear that there is brains to compliment the brawn and that his star will continue to rise.
