7 Big Questions About The Deadpool Film

3. What€™s The Deal With Origins?

As we have kind of cleared up, Origins did not happen. But Deadpool will be aware of this, right? With any luck the wisecracking Wade Wilson will reference the poor adaptation, but will it be seen as canon? In the post credits scene for Origins, Deadpool€™s arm reaches for his head, showing that his mouth had been uncovered. Deadpool then shushes the audience, breaking the fourth wall for the first time. This was a hint that this dismal version of Deadpool could become the man we wanted him to be, so will we be seeing a continuation of this? If Fox use this route they could continue to use the Origins universe as a €˜what if,€™ but this could easily alienate wider audiences. Will we be given an alternate version of how he was created, more in line with the comic books? Either way, Wolverine is crucial to the mercenary€™s creation, so it is hard to envision a version of Deadpool€™s origins without a cameo by Hugh Jackman. It is unlikely that the film will skip over how Wade Wilson became the super-powered killing machine that he is, so this question is likely to be answered at some point.
