The most recent milestone set by Jurassic World saw the movie reach a billion dollars at the global office in only 13 days, taking the record that was set just two months ago by fellow Universal franchise flick Furious 7. Prior to this year, Universal had only ever had one of their features reach the ten-figure mark and ironically enough that movie was Jurassic Park, which took 20 years to cross the billion dollar threshold thanks to the success of the 2013 3D re-release.

Thanks to a record-breaking debut in China that saw it go on to become the highest-grossing movie ever released in the world's second-biggest market, Furious 7 reached a billion dollars in 17 days, besting the 19 day total that was previously jointly held by Avatar, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and The Avengers. Of course, as has been a recurring theme throughout this article, Jurassic World came along and set yet another record during its incredible box office run, managing the feat in less than two weeks.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
