7 Cancelled Movie Sequels Saved By Comics

4. Chaos Comics' Halloween #1

Halloween is just an awkward franchise, all things considered. On a continuity level it's all over the place, with many films omitting the existence of other films in the franchise to try and salvage something out of the timeline. With how Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later ended, it was assumed the series was over. Decapitating Michael Myers is a pretty final way to kill him, but that didn't stop the films.

Daniel Farrands, the writer of Halloween 6, pitched a follow-up movie to H20 but it would not happen. However, the now-defunct Chaos! Comics took that idea, and with Farrands helping with the story, put out Halloween #1.

The plot acts itself is a prequel, with an older Tommy Doyle reading the journal of Dr. Sam Loomis to showcase the life of Michael in the sanitarium and Dr. Loomis' connection with him.

It's a surprisingly good one-shot that would have definitely been a much better instalment to the Halloween franchise than what fans eventually got with Halloween: Resurrection.
