7 Cancelled Movie Sequels Saved By Comics

1. Buckaroo Banzai

Robocop Frank Miller
Moonstone Books

The Adventure of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is both a fantastic way to pad out the length of any writing assignment and a fantastic film that was hurt at the box office, being slaughtered by Star Trek: The Search for Spock, Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Despite this hard-hit at the box office, Buckaroo Banzai would be saved through comics.

In 2006, Moonstone books began publishing tales of Buckaroo Banzai with the original creator, Earl Mac Rauch at the helm. These stories were adaptations of the dozen or so starters that Mac Rauch had worked on from the initial scripting of the film, and established a far more expansive world than what was shown in the film.

While a now-cult film being reevaluated by general audiences, the comics have become fantastic reads for comic fans and film aficionados alike.
