7 Comic Book Movie Endings That Really Needed A Sequel

7. Man Of Steel

While it was simply intended to kick-start a new Superman series, Man of Steel inadvertently ended up starting an entire cinematic universe. Batman was brought into the fold in the form of Ben Affleck, and rather than Man of Steel 2 we got Batman v Superman as a building block to Justice League.

None of that, though, serves as a true follow-up to Man of Steel, a movie that, in comparison to future efforts, comes out looking a lot better now. The ending, which sees Clark Kent beginning his new job at the Daily Planet, sets the scene for more classic Superman adventures, and there's definitely something to be said for going into a purer version of the character, but so far it hasn't really been built upon.

Talk continues to swirl about Man of Steel 2 - most recently, Christopher McQuarrie was linked to direct - but DC's plans fluctuate so often and wildly it's hard to know if or when it will actually happen.
