5. Harry, Ron And Hermionie All Asked To Be In Gryffindor
Now we all know that the sorting hat takes your choice into account as Harry said to his son Albus Potter at the end of The Deathly Hallows. Despite the hat feeling Harry belonged in Slytherin due to part of Voldemort's soul being trapped inside him, he listened to Harry and agreed to place him in Gryffindor.
However this theory imply's that it wasn't just Harry who asked to be placed in Gryffindor, but Ron and Hermione as well. It states that when taking into account their characteristics, Harry should be in Slytherin, Ron should be in Hufflepuff and Hermione should be in Ravenclaw.
The only reason that all three of them are in Gryffindor is because they all had the courage to ask, which is at least partly what it takes to be a Gryffindor.
