7 Crazy Star Wars Fan Theories People Actually Believed

3. Ben Kenobi Is A Clone Called OB-1

Another oldie but a real goodie, this is a theory that was banded around from very early on in the franchise's history. Spawned essentially because the naming kinda works, it was suggested that Obi-Wan was actually OB-1, a clone who went by his code name; there could be Obi-Too, Obi-Free and Obi-Foor out there.

Using just the original film there's nothing really out there to disprove it. There's already some alternate naming going on with Obi-Wan going by Ben and it explains the slight memory lapses away in a very vague sense. The most important piece of evidence is obviously that Ben fought in the Clone Wars; what if the Clone Wars were fought entirely by clones?

Some people pushed it a little, using comments like "I was once a Jedi Knight the same as your father" to suggest OB-1 was a clone Anakin, which highlights just how bonkers the idea actually is.

By the time the prequels rolled around showing what the Clone Wars actually were it was clear Obi-Wan was nothing more than another crazy Star Wars name.
