7 Female Disney Villains Who Would Have Been Awesome Leads

3. Ursula - The Little Mermaid

Disneyvillains Ursula She's the purple-skinned sea goddess who gave Pirates of the Caribbean's Calypso a run for her money as the best Disney goddess of the ocean, and frankly, Ursula rocks. Modelled after legendary drag queen and performer Divine, Ursula is one of the Disney Renaissance's best villains and I personally would have loved to seen a side story or a prequel all about her and how she became the most feared woman in all the oceans. Ursula is a seductive and Machiavellian figure who uses her powers for self gain, but a prequel for the character would have been something cool and intriguing as to Ursula's age, where she gained her powers (hereditary or won) and just what her story is. She's an intriguing, multi-faceted character and so the opportunity to make her the lead in her own story would have been a fantastic direction for Disney to go in.
