7 Films That Eerily Predicted Future Roles

2. Zoe Saldana - The Terminal/Star Trek

The Terminal is far from Spielberg’s best work; it’s a slushy, achingly sentimental comedy about a man trapped in an airport terminal thanks to diplomatic red tape, and he has all sorts wacky, heartwarming adventures. This includes helping Diego Luna romance Zoe Saldana, who plays an immigration officer who’s also a secret Trekkie; she even gets to do the Vulcan salute thing, to signal her nerdiness.

A few years later she was playing Uhura in J.J. Abrams rebooted Star Trek, where she soon made the role her own. Who knows, maybe noted Spielberg fanboy Abrams saw The Terminal and that’s where the idea of casting Saldana came from.

Of course, Diego Luna would have his own brush with geekdom over a decade later, playing Cassian Andor in Rogue One.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
