007, we've been expecting you. Sure enough, James Bond finds his way onto this list with a unique smokable. The early Bond films starred Sean Connery as a suave secret agent, with fast cars, beautiful women and above all, cool gadgets. The 1967 film You Only Live Twice featured a pretty awesome gadget in the form of a rocket-firing cigarette, which when used by Bond proved that smoking really does kill. Early Bond films showed the secret agent smoking frequently. Just picture the image of Connery sitting at a poker table in a tuxedo, with a long white cigarette in his mouth and you'll understand that it was a natural accessory for the 1960s movie star. Playing on the fact that Bond was a smoker, You Only Live Twice brought in a cigarette with more than just nicotine for a kick. Whilst on a Ninja training ground, Bond is introduced to the gadget. "It's designed for people who smoke too many cigarettes, like you" he is told, as a rocket shoots out of the end of the cigarette and destroys a human-shaped target in a ball of fire. Later, whilst captured in a secret volcano lair, Bond uses the gadget to escape, feigning that he would like a cigarette as a last request. Interestingly, the screenplay for You Only Live Twice was written by children's author Roald Dahl, so bear that in mind next time you watch Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and realise Willy Wonka is basically a Bond villain.
