6. Emma Stone Zombieland
Probably the only other actress out there right now to match Jennifer Lawrences success, likability, and marketability, Emma Stone broke out as a leading lady in the hit 2009 horror comedy Zombieland. Since the movie is still rather recent and Stone isnt going anywhere anytime soon at least for one more Spider-Man movie- this is the only horror comedy and only film made in the 2000s to be on this particular list. As part of an ensemble shared by Abigail Breslin, Jesse Eisenberg, and Woody Harrelson, Stones character Wichita does not allow herself to be sidelined by the hilarious pairing of the male characters but in facts asserts herself with a shotgun and a ballsy attitude. She dominates her role as a protective older sister with an edge but charms Eisenberg and the audience with her dead on delivery and comedic chops. She even gets to smoke a bong with Bill Murray and play Ghostbusters. The horror genre is ripe with fun female characters, but it's nice to see a humorous side to the Action Girl/Final Girl. In this day in age no one would probably have done it better.
