4. Johnny Depp A Nightmare On Elm Street
On a side note: I absolutely love A Nightmare on Elm Street. This is a movie worth mentioning even after all these years of Johnny Depps phenomenal success. There are so many actors who start in horror films which are later considered to be an embarrassment on their careers (Jennifer Aniston in Leprechaun for example), but Depp should be damn proud of A Nightmare on Elm Street as it is still one of the best horror films of the 1980s. Many people will say that baby-faced Depp isnt in his prime here, which is no surprise as this was his first acting role. He plays Glen the boyfriend to Heather Langenkamps heroine Nancy. Hes the non-believer, the one who tries to be logical and rational about everything until it is far too late. Hes unassuming and fits the bill of the nice-guy teenage boy-next-door, and thats very believable. Freddy Krueger also saves him for last as he meets a bizarre yet hilarious and fantastically bloody end thats so great even the movie acknowledges it with the line, We don't need a stretcher up here. We need a mop!"
