5. Creepy, Overprotective, Stupid Father

I'm almost amazed at how this father embodies every "movie dad" cliche in the history of romantic dramas. As soon as he meets the boyfriend, he immediately hates him. He creepily watches through the window as his daughter makes out with this guy. He probably says things like "I don't want you to see that boy ever again!" or "That boy isn't good enough for my little girl!" How old is this girl supposed to be anyway? 18? 19, maybe? She looks a little too old to still be in high school, first of all. Alex Pettyfer's character can't be any younger than 20 and the filmmakers surely wouldn't allow this guy to have a relationship with a minor. So, I think it's safe to say this girl is at least 18 and if that's the case, why does this father care what she does? By embodying all these cliches, this father may also turn out to be one of the dumbest in history. He apparently has no foresight to realize that his overreaction to his daughter's boyfriend will only work against him. Dad, you're not going to win here, no matter what you do. Unless, of course, you kill the boyfriend, but that causes a whole other set of problems. There's a fine line between being cautious about who your daughter chooses to date and becoming a borderline psychopath.
