7 Harry Potter Villains Who Weren’t In Slytherin

5. Cormac McLaggen (Gryffindor)

Cormac McLaggen was first introduced in The Half-Blood Prince. As well as being a member of the Slug Club (an exclusive society of students handpicked by Professor Slughorn), he was also a keen Quidditch player.

However, he only managed to make it onto the Gryffindor team when Ron was unable to play. He was convinced he knew more about Quidditch than the rest of the team (including the captain) and spent most training sessions telling everybody else what to do. Thankfully, his disastrous Quidditch career ended when he knocked out Harry with a Beater’s bat.

To make matters worse, he also had a rather awkward relationship with Hermione. This was particularly noticeable in the movie adaption of The Half-Blood Prince when he acted like a complete creep during one of the Slug Club’s evening meals.

All things considered, Cormac wasn't one of the worst villains in the series, but there's no denying he was an unpleasant individual full of his own self-importance.
