7 Harry Potter Villains Who Weren’t In Slytherin

Peter Pettigrew is the evillest character outside of Slytherin House. The Sorting Hat made a serious miscalculation when it decided to put him in Gryffindor.

As a student, he was close friends with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. But beyond this, little is known about his school years. After leaving school, however, Peter betrayed Lily and James’s location to Voldemort with the hope of gaining the Dark Lord’s approval.

Following Voldemort’s downfall, Peter then faked his own death and murdered a street full of Muggles in the process. Worse still, Sirius was wrongly blamed for this crime and sentenced to twelve years in Azkaban.

But Peter’s villainy didn’t stop there. He then went looking for his fallen master, and at the end of The Goblet of Fire, he managed to return Voldemort to his full strength with the help of Barty Crouch Junior. Indeed, had it not been for Peter's actions, Voldemort may have never returned.
