7 Incidents That Prove The X-Men Franchise Is Cursed

1. Bryan Singer Is Accused Of Child Molestation Months Before Release Day - X-Men: Days Of Future Past

And here we come, full circle, to the very news story that inspired this article. So it was today that various news sources reported that Bryan Singer, the man responsible for the biggest successes in the X-Men franchise thus far, has been accused of child molestation based on an incident which supposedly occurred back in 1999. The affected, Michael Egan, now aged 31, insists that Singer sodomised and threatened him, and filed claims for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy by unreasonable intrusion. Whether this story is true or not (and we have no way of knowing whether it is), it's safe to say that it's going to play a major part in the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past - everybody is going to be talking about the fact that the director has been accused of child molestation, regardless of whether or not they go to see it. Will it make the more less profitable? More? Will it have any affect at all? This is just another in a long line of incidents in the ongoing X-Men saga, of course. It may be the most recent, but it's also potentially the worst. Cursed or not, this isn't the sort of development Singer's career is likely to recover from... whether he's guilty or innocent.
