7 Incredible Saw X Easter Eggs You May Have Missed
3. John Kramer Seeks Help From "Norway"
Now, speaking of chronology, one Easter egg that's slipped in to progress a tiny, tiny detail from another Saw instalment, is the mention of Norway.
The first half of Saw X is centered around John Kramer's cancer diagnosis and the seeming discovery of a miracle cure from a Norwegian doctor named Dr. Pederson and his daughter Cecilia.
Kramer drops a lot of money on this miracle treatment after a tip-off from a stage four cancer patient who miraculously recovers and gives him the website of an innovative surgeon. While this all leads to the second half of Saw X and, again, makes John the serial killer we most identify and sympathise with, it also flowers from a seed planted in Saw VI.
Saw VI is set after this movie, but features a flashback that seemingly happens during this movie despite not being featured in Saw X. Confusing, right?
Well, to put it simply, in Saw VI, back in 2009, we see a flashback of John Kramer getting declined health insurance from William Easton of Umbrella Health which would allow him to travel to Norway for innovative treatment that hadn't yet been cleared for use in the US.
Norway, of course, being where Dr. Pederson works and where Kramer originally plans on flying, before Cecilia tells him the waiting list there exceeds his life expectancy and they'll be running a clinic imminently in Mexico.
