7 Incredible Saw X Easter Eggs You May Have Missed
1. That Iconic Bathroom
Well, the return of Hoffman was so iconic, it actually provided two Easter eggs in one mini post-credits scene.
While many viewers would have been too captivated by Costas Mandylor's return and had all eyes focused on Hoffman and Kramer as they looked to disembowel Henry Kessler, the background actually provided the true piece de resistance for the movie to end on.
In a scene which director Kevin Greutert describes as "probably the most fan servicey thing that we did in this film", Hoffman's return takes place where it all started: that iconic bathroom.
"I know that a lot of the really hardcore fans were hoping for that character to return to the series, and we gave it to them on a nice platter. We needed to wrap up the story of the other character that we re-meet in the scene, but it was just having fun ourselves."
Not only did almost the entirety of the first movie take place in one of horror's most legendary settings, but it's turned up time and time again, and may have been the only return which could one-up Hoffman's. Quite ironic, really, as the bathroom was the location of Hoffman's very demise the last time we saw him.
The bathroom had to be completely recreated so long after its last appearance, with Saw X production design team having to precisely study and recreate the tile:
"My set designers were pulling their hair a little because we wanted it to be so true. It's so iconic, so it was something that we were very excited to recreate."
The one Easter egg, of course, which didn't happen in the movie was the trademark "game over" quote to end Saw X. But of course, that may be because it isn't...
