7 Major Reveals From The Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Prequel Comics
4. Superman: Enemy Of The State
The trailers for Batman v Superman have indicated that Holly Hunter's Senator Finch is very much against the Man of Steel, but she at least seems to appreciate the good he's done since that battle with General Zod. However, her concerns over the fact that everyone knows so little about Superman overshadow that, and this group of politicians and military personnel quickly agree on a committee being formed which will study Superman and attempt to figure out the impact his presence is having on the world (if rumours about the movie are accurate, it's likely here that Lex Luthor will likely start factoring into things). They also seem convinced that another alien attack is inevitable, but worry that spying on Superman will be what ends up turning him into an enemy of the state. Either way, everyone in attendance appears to be split between being in awe of what he can do and fearful of what he may end up doing. One very interesting moment sees a General bring up the fact that they have no idea if he's susceptible to mental illness, PTSD, or dementia, and this whole conversation offers up some insight into how people like this view the Man of Steel. Of course, we know it's ultimately leading up to that courtroom appearance from the trailers, but this is still a fascinating glimpse into how we end up reaching that point.
