7 MCU Costumes That Need To Change

3. Scarlet Witch

Like Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch has never really had a "costume" - more just a series of slightly different red and black clothes.

In Infinity War, she sported a long red leather jacket, which was her coolest look to date, but it's still not up to par with most of the other Avengers.

Why The Costume Needs To Change: Another Hawkeye similarity: the lack of a definitive, iconic costume for Scarlet Witch is hurting her appeal as a character, and it's no surprise that - again, like Hawkeye - she's rarely mentioned in conversations about people's favourite Avengers and MCU characters.

Her chosen garb also doesn't make any sense at a story level. Wanda is one of the central Avengers, and her home at Avengers HQ (something that may change after Infinity War, but we'll see) means that she'll always be one of the first members to be called upon for any mission.

That's a lot of danger for someone to be in on a regular basis, so why is she strutting into battle wearing a corset and not some sort of bulletproof body armour? Remember, Wanda is just as vulnerable as any human - she has no quick healing or anything of that sort - and despite her magical abilities, one well-placed bullet or knife wound would kill her.

It's amazing that none of her teammates have brought this up, and it's weird that nobody at Avengers HQ has designed her something more battle-ready. When the actress who plays the character also has issues with her costume, you know that it's time for a change.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
