7 Mouth-Watering Films Quentin Tarantino Almost Made

4. Double V Vega/The Vega Brothers

Tarantino hasn't been shy in confirming that crazy-thug Mr. Blonde or Vic Vega, played by Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs, and John Travoltaʼs hired killer, Vincent Vega, are indeed brothers. The director has also let it be known on many occasions that he had planned for a number of years of spawning a spin-off movie that would team up the two brothers called Double V Vega or The Vega Brothers. Initial plans for the prequel would follow the two brothers during Vincentʼs time in Amsterdam (the trip he speaks about at the beginning of Pulp Fiction). Tarantino was pretty wild on this project for many years, and during press for the first Kill Bill, he claimed it was very much a possibility. But suddenly a problem presented itself -- the age of the actors would end all chance of the movie being made. This didnʼt stop Tarantino from still wanting to make a movie on the killer brothers despite their age though.
During an appearance on Opie and Anthony in 2007, QT spoke of this back-up plan for the plot. "I actually came up with a way I could have done it, even being older and dead where they all had older brothers and both of their brothers got together because the two guys died. And they wanted revenge or something like that." However, he ultimately admitted defeat saying, "Now, they're too old for that. It's kind of unlikely now." Madsen has even spoken about the movie as recently as 2010, pretty much reiterating the words of Tarantino. Nonetheless, itʼs a movie we will likely never see and will probably continue to be one of those fun €œwhat if€ conversations.

Martin Scorsese fanboy; Can prove in 140-characters why Michael Bay is a hack, and I enjoy a bit of Gridiron at the weekends.
