7 Movie Characters Who Gave Love A Bad Name

7. Summer Finn - (500) Days of Summer

500 Days of Summer Summer did a terrible thing. She didn't play along. And by not playing along, she simultaneously destroyed a small part of every male viewer's soul (whether they admit to it or not). We're so used to the man getting the girl in movies that this cruel beast of a film came as a tremendous blow. And the annoying thing is, Summer never does anything wrong. She tells poor Joseph Gordon-Levitt before they start going out that she is not looking for true love, and hell, she doesn't even believe in it anyway. She is nothing but honest throughout the whole sordid affair. She did not account for the fact that she is Zooey Deschanel however, the fantasy of every slightly artsy/alternative male (and perhaps female) in the world. To discover that Zooey Deschanel hasn't fallen head-over-heels in love with you, and in fact was only looking for a casual fling, must be a major blow to one's self-esteem. And hence her inclusion on this list. She gives love a bad name by portraying a more realistic depiction of it. And who wants a realistic depiction of love, particularly when Zooey Deschanel is involved?
