Since her breakout-role in the critically acclaimed Knives Out (2019), Ana de Armas' career has continued to soar. Later this year, Netflix is set to stream one of her latest films: a semi-biographical account of the life of Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe.

While Monroe has been the subject of innumerable films, including My Week With Marilyn (2011), we remain hopeful that this latest flick will (somehow) shed new light on the tragic life of one of Hollywood's most (in)famous performers.

Based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde is an admittedly fictionalised take on Monroe's life, covering her many romances and marriages, including the numerous scandalous affairs she allegedly participated in.

A film based on Oates' book has in been in some stage of development since 2010, and various stars, including Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, have been attached to the project at one point or another. However, since 2019, De Armas has been confirmed as the lead of this ambitious project.

Blonde also marks the end of director Andrew Dominik's five-year hiatus from filmmaking. The director, whose previous films include Killing Them Softly and The Assassination of Jesse James, has actually been linked to the project since 2010.

While we have few other details (not even a trailer!) on Blonde, we're sure that De Armas will yet again blow audiences away with her impressive acting chops.

Madison Rennie hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
