7 Netflix Films We Can't Wait To See In 2021 (And 3 We'll Skip)
7. We'll Skip - The Kissing Booth 3
The Kissing Booth, which was released on Netflix in 2018, opened to considerable commercial success, delighting fans with its comedic take on high school romances. Starring Joey King, Jacob Elordi, and Joel Courtney, The Kissing Booth charts Elle's (King) unexpected romance with her best friend's brother.
Although the film was certainly a hit amongst audiences, critics derided the film for its misogynistic undertones, cringeworthy dialogue, and cliched plotlines.
Nonetheless, a sequel soon followed and, much like its predecessor, The Kissing Booth 2 was loved and hated in equal measures. While fans of the first film flocked to their sofas to watch this lackluster sequel, critics were once more offended by its unoriginal plot and basic characters.
The third (and hopefully final) film in this divisive series will arrive on our screens later this year. Set in the summer before Elle ventures off to college, The Kissing Booth 3 will likely rely on the same saccharine dialogue and forced comedy of its predecessors. While fans of the series will likely love the final instalment, we think we'll give this tired rom-com a skip!
