7 Perfect Casting Choices For The Justice League Movie
5. Taylor Kitsch As Hawkman
Taylor Kitsch is an actor in need of rehabilitating, and what better way to do that than in a series of high profile superhero movies? His recent CV is patchy to say the least; he was the best thing in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which is admittedly no great accolade), but his big chance at stardom, John Carter, attracted less viewers than the average YouTube video of a cat falling off a chair and he drank from the poisoned chalice when taking a lead role in the second season of True Detective as 'the even more troubled one'. The guy needs a break. To be fair to Kitsch, his Paul Woodrough was one of the most interesting parts of True Detective, with Kitsch internalising the character's homosexuality in a way that bristled from the screen. His internal struggle also showed that he's an actor capable of stoicism and quiet strength, perfect for the Thanagarian Policeman Katar Hol (the Thanagarians were mentioned in Man Of Steel, making this incarnation of the character the best bet to appear on screen) and his human alter-ego, Cater Hall. Hawkman traditionally spends an awful lot of time with his chest on display, even in the winter, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that Kitsch is a bit weedy when compared to someone like Chris Hemsworth, Marvel's Thor and the gold standard for giant pecs in superhero movies. He does have form for bulking up considerably though, most notably in 2013's Lone Survivor, so Kitsch could certainly be ready by the time shooting came around for a JL or solo Hawkman film.
