7 Perfect Casting Choices For The Justice League Movie
6. Charlize Theron As Black Canary
If we're going to speculate about seeing an older Oliver Queen then it would make sense to also see a more mature version of his wife, and one true love, Dinah Drake. Given her high-profile role in Mad Max: Fury Road, Charlize Theron would be a brilliant coup for Warner and DC. She could infuse the character with the sort of steely edge and easy glamour that would make the established Black Canary a formidable crime-fighting force and the perfect compliment to her husband's public lifestyle. Obviously the similarity in age would be a break from the source material (Holloway is 46 and Theron 40, a lesser age gap than their comic counterparts), but having the pair established as vigilante spouses would provide DC with a new avenue to explore on screen and a real chance to set the team dynamic apart from Marvel's Avengers. Theron makes sense for the role on a few levels. Not only did her star turn in Mad Max show that she had what it takes to be a compelling, believable and totally fleshed out action hero, but she's also got a Best Actress Oscar to her name for Monster so she would be able to lend real credibility to any film. She'd doubtlessly also prove to be more of reliable draw for punters than Holloway would as Green Arrow, and she's not too much of an actor's actor as to turn down more populist fare as her roles in the Huntsman series, Hancock and The Italian Job can attest to.
