7 Perfect Casting Choices For The Justice League Movie
2. Brian White As Green Lantern
After trying (and failing spectacularly) to launch Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds and all the might of Hollywood, it would be surprising if DC reintroduced the shamed superhero into their shared universe repeating the same A-List casting trick. It'd be even more surprising if they tried to resurrect the Hal Jordan version of the character in light of the catastrophic mess of Reynolds' film. No, we're much more likely to see the John Stewart iteration of the Lantern, adding a much needed, more visible, POC to the cast since Martian Manhunter spends most of his time being green. Introducing a lesser known actor, one with years of supporting roles and TV work under their belt, would work especially well if the new Green Lantern was to be introduced in the Justice League films ahead of the scheduled Green Lantern Corps, giving them the chance to step up whilst accepting lower billing. Brian J. White came to prominence as part of cast of The Shield, where he played newbie Strike Force member Tavon. He's more than capable of playing both the loyal and belligerent sides of John Stewart's character, as seen in his interactions with his team mates Vic and Shane in that show. As a mainly TV focused actor, White would really have to push himself to earn his place on the cast list, but given how John Stewart had to prove himself worthy of the Green Lantern name in the comics that seems strangely fitting.
