7 Pieces Of Evidence That May Confirm The Joker Used To Be Robin

5. What The Costume Tells Us

Damage aside, and the costume itself is very interesting too, especially as it has that message scrawled on the front of it. That's something which doesn't hail from the comic books, and while many have assumed it's a taunt left there by The Joker for Batman for when he discovered the body of his sidekick, there's another way "Ha Ha Ha, Joke's On You Batman" can be perceived. Ask yourself, are those the words of someone who tortured and murdered his greatest enemy's partner or an ally who turned into an enemy and is mocking his old friend's failure to protect him? Perhaps Dick or Jason were left for dead and decided to become The Joker to make Batman pay for not saving them; becoming the new Joker after the death of the original would certainly be an appropriately twisted way of torturing the Caped Crusader. It's also interesting to note that between the fact that Batman trained him and later failed him, the hero would once again be responsible for the creation of his greatest villain. Leto's Joker is also quite muscular and seems to be more physical than past iterations, so that too could point to him having had some fight training in the past. Rumours certainly point to this being a Joker who will be a physical threat to Batman anyway, and being a former Robin would give him enough of the required skills to take on his old mentor.
