7 Reasons Deadpool Has The Edge Over X-Men: Apocalypse

4. The Supporting Cast

The Deadpool comics include a supporting cast of characters as gleefully twisted as Wilson himself and the film will be no different. The best part is that these are all characters who haven€™t already debuted in the early 2000€™s. Yes, Age of Apocalypse may feature new mutants such as Psylocke, Jubilee and the one eyed, one armed, flying purple people eater known as Apocalypse, but it still features many mutants who were debuted fifteen years ago. Some of them are still being played by the same people. Although it looks admittedly awesome, putting a mohawk on Storm does not make her a fresher character and nor does it take away from the fact that she has been horribly portrayed for four movies. Turning Sansa Stark into the Phoenix doesn€™t wipe away our memories of already seeing that characters arc come to an end in 2006. Giving Nightcrawler€™s hair blue tips is€ just silly. Really, really silly. Deadpool will feature the hilariously inappropriate comedian T.J. Miller as Wade€™s best friend, Weasel, Leslie Uggams as the sassy, elderly, very Blind Al, Ed Skrein as the villainous Ajax, the beautiful and deadly former Strikeforce champion Gina Corano as Angel Dust (aka Phencylidine) and Brianna Hildebrand as the telepathic Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Which sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon that I need to see right now. If you just read that and thought, €˜I don€™t have a clue who any of those characters are€™ then, well, that€™s kind of the point.
