7 Reasons Why The Rearranging Of Fox's Marvel Release Dates Is A Good Thing

4. Gambit Gets Pushed (Again)

The other film that got its release date pushed back a noticeable amount was the long in-development Gambit spinoff. Fox has been (semi-)attempting to get the film off the ground for the better part of a decade now, and seems to just keep running into issues.

While the film does apparently now have a script, it has not shot a single frame, is without a director, and does not even boast a full cast. With all of this in mind, there was nary a chance that the film was ever going to reach completion in time to make its set release date of February 2019. Instead, the film has now been pushed back a couple of months, to June, and this is absolutely the right move.

If we're being really honest, it gives the studio more time to consider whether or not it truly wants to go through with this. The once-enticing prospect of a film based around the fan-favorite character has grown increasingly tired with each passing year, and in the wake of this major shake-up, it may well be decided that a solo film is not the best way for the character to appear.
