4. Blade In Blade (1998)

The oft-forgotten Blade starts with a bang, with a nightclub-set action sequence that draws the audience in to the world of the Daywalker. The film begins with a young man being taken to a rave by a seductive woman. The oppressive atmosphere of the club is laid on very thick - even before sprinklers emerge from the ceiling and begin spraying blood on the dancefloor. Much to the young man's shock, the other patrons of the club couldn't be happier at this development, as they bare their teeth and reveal that it's a vampire rave. Thankfully, Blade has managed to infiltrate the nightclub and embarks on a frenzy of highly stylized violence. For a lesser-known superhero in Blade and a completely different landscape in terms of Marvel comics on the big screen as of 1998, this intro gives audiences everything they need to know about the half-vampire vampire-slayer; he's great at killing vampires and looking good doing it.
