7 Science Fiction Movies That Embarrass The Genre

5. Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem

You had to know this movie would make it onto the list. The Alien franchise has had a very long downfall, starting with the fourth canonical movie and lasting until... well, recently, when the dreaded horror that is Aliens: Colonial Marines dropped down on us. Not in a good way, either. The game is well entrenched as a terrible entry (also considered canon) to the franchise. Requiem wasn€™t much better than that. The second crossover between the Predator and Xenomorph universes - we€™re still waiting for Arnie to take on the Xenos - fares as a mindless Hollywood flick consisting entirely of poorly executed €œhomages," bad special effects and a color palette that will make your eyes bleed. Also: there are some scenes on unnecessarily gratuitous violence that are obviously implemented only to shock the viewership. Shouldn€™t the progress in technology make bringing these creatures to life easier and scarier? The answer is sadly: "No." The premise is relatively simple, continuing on the events of the first flick (that is also actually decent enough). Those of you who still remember it will know that the Jautja (Predators) boarded their infected comrade onto their ship to host a new breed of Xenomorphs. It would seem that our race isn€™t the only one that fails miserably in trying to control these monsters. The Predalien kills off all the Jautja on board and crash lands in a rural American town. And, of course, it€™s the US of A again. The rest of the €œplot€ isn€™t even worth mentioning.
