7 Star Wars Actors Who Slammed The Franchise

3. Harrison Ford

It's no secret Harrison Ford has had plenty of things to say about Star Wars over the years, but it wasn't as much about the franchise as it was about his character. Ford never truly embraced Han Solo as a well-written character for him to play, "As a character, Han Solo was not so interesting to me."

There wasn't a guarantee he would return for the third film, which was one of the reasons he was frozen in Carbonite at the end of The Empire Strikes Back. Ultimately, he did return, but later commented on the whole trilogy when he said, "Three is enough for me. I was glad to see that costume for the last time" in an interview with David Letterman.

It took a long time (and probably a little convincing), but Ford once again returned to the franchise in 2015 for The Force Awakens.

What happened in that film to his character is what he wanted to happen in Return of the Jedi. Han was killed off, which is something Ford spoke about it by saying, "I thought [Han] should have died in the last one." He finally got his wish... even if it took 32 years to come to fruition.
