7 Star Wars Actors Who Slammed The Franchise

Of all the people who spoke negatively about the Star Wars franchise over the years, the one who didn't hold anything back was the late Sir Alec Guinness. He was already a veteran actor when he came onto the set of Star Wars in 1977, but his role in that film ended up taking over as the only one he was known for.

Gone were the days he was noticed as the man who played in films like Lawrence of Arabia and The Bridge on the River Kwai, which didn't sit well with the thespian.

"Apart from the money, I regret having embarked on the film. I like them well enough, but it's not an acting job, the dialogue - which is lamentable - keeps being changed and only slightly improved, and I find myself old and out of touch with the young."

That's a pretty harsh criticism when you think about it. Guinness not only trashed the role he was given, but he hated the dialogue. To be fair, he's not the only one who has criticized the dialogue in Star Wars films, but being so outspoken about the words that he ended up saying on film makes him the biggest star to have trashed the franchise.
