5. Darth Maul

Darth Maul is the undisputed champion of Sith Lords that we have witnessed on screen thus far. Many feel that Darth Maul is the shining pinnacle of something that was done correctly with the Phantom Menace. His look, voice, acrobatic fighting style and red double bladed lightsaber all added to this next generation of on-screen bad guy that had never been seen before in the history of cinema. The horror we all experienced with his presumed death at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi! The amazing villain that was introduced to us was gone at film's end. How happy the Star Wars fanbase must have been when he was brought back on the Clone Wars. Some of the best episodes of that show were the ones that featured Darth Maul and his own quest for revenge. The duel that would see former master and apprentice, Maul vs. Sidious, battle one another was one of the best moments of the entire Clone Wars series. At this point Maul's fate is unknown, but it is easy to assume that we will him pop up in the bonus material of the Clone Wars that has yet to announce a release date or in the new series Star Wars: Rebels at some point. Villains are a tough sell for feature movies, but following Darth Maul post Revenge of the Sith, if he survive the Clone Wars bonus content, would be massively entertaining.
