7 Star Wars Scenes Deleted For The Dumbest Reasons

1. Luke's Moving Han Solo Moment Was Deleted For More "Pacing" Reasons - Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Returning to Episode VIII - The Last Jedi now, and to another brilliant moment that was bafflingly chucked out of the picture due to those pesky "pacing reasons."

Now, admittedly, Rian Johnson himself has explained how he was "very sorry" to lose the scene when Luke Skywalker mourns the loss of his dear friend Han Solo not long after hearing the heartbreaking news of his death (via EW).

And he would note how he felt a similar beat could be found during the moment Luke pops up on the Millennium Falcon for the first time in decades, too.

Sure, that moment with R2-D2 is definitely rather moving in its own way. But it's nowhere near as powerful as the visual of the Luke behind his bitter facade taking a second to deal with the death of his iconic brother-in-law.

Johnson may claim that the movie moved better without these few moments of Luke showing the devastating pain of losing his friend, but it was undoubtedly a big mistake.
