7 Star Wars Vehicles We Need To See In Episode VII

3. X Wing

Zxi Ah, the X Wing. The Spitfire of the galaxy. Or if you€™re American and reading this, the P-51 of the galaxy. George Lucas likes P-51s, just go watch Red Tails. Actually, don€™t watch Red Tails. Ever. The X Wing fighter is another iconic vehicle which was instrumental in the stories of the three original films. The Dagoba swamp scene, where Luke lifts the X Wing out of the turgid depths using the Force, is one of the most inspirational scenes in any film. The X Wing is important to Star Wars as it provides the essence of the space-battle scenes. X Wings flying in formation to attack the Death Star, pursued by Tie Fighters, may be a nod back to old WW2 movies like The Flying Tigers; but the images of Luke strapped in the cockpit, gripping the controls and shooting down the enemy, have become as symbolic and recognisable as Lightsabers and Princess Leia€™s gold bikini.

I like writing about films and hope you like reading about them too. And watching them, of course.
