A film shadowed by the success of a recent release is adventure comedy Megamind in 2010.

During the same year as Despicable Me, Megamind follows the narrative of a villain with the same name as the title, who attempts to turn Metro City around after his foe superhero Metro Man dies in the latest heist.

Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt voice alongside each other within this parody movie, which quickly becomes one of Dreamworks more underrated classics, especially when they are joined by other stars such as Jonah Hill and Tina Fey.

With music by Hanz Zimmer, the story touches on a range of themes including self-worth, identity and acceptance, and is one for the whole family to watch.

There are a range of big scenes and sarcastic characters that create a film full to the brim of laughs. In complete contrast to the famous Marvel and DC films of the 21st century, Megamind is a break from the more serious superhero tone, whilst still providing many elements that fans will enjoy.
