7 Things Movies Always Get Wrong About College

3. House Parties Are The Only Place To Socialize

If you spent your entire summer before heading off to college watching nothing but movies set in a higher learning institution, then you'll likely be pretty bummed about two months into classes when you realize you've only attended a handful of ragers, keggers, and toga parties.

In the film world, that number would be increased by two thousand percent. Because, as hinted at before, there's nothing more important to fictitious college students than partying all night every night.

And again, that may be true for some people. But those people probably failed after their first semester.

What's rarely shown in these movies is the wealth of other social activities college students engage in that don't involve poolside keg stands.

There are concerts, poetry readings, breakdancing competitions, outdoor festivals, hiking groups, activist groups, recreational sports leagues, and dozens of other student organizations that bring people together so they can interact without some douchebag throwing up Jägermeister on their shoes while Katy Perry blares away in the background.

Oh, and as for that epic party that happens on a monthly basis - the one that looks like it cost as much as two Woodstocks, albeit with even more famous musicians performing - you'll be lucky if a party half that monumental happens even once in your whole life, let alone your college career.
