7 Tiny Details From Comic Book Movies Only True Fans Noticed

3. Mind Your Footing - Batman V Superman

Batman V Superman is a lot of things - messy, absurd, and frankly abysmal in truth - but it did have a keen eye for detail (and an unhealthy obsession with Frank Miller).

The Dark Knight Returns - Miller's seminal eighties reimagining of the Batman myth - is the comic that inspired much of the maligned DC feature. And though there's no denying the divisive nature of that particular comic, or even the film itself for that matter, one scene that did manage to boast a universal appeal was the warehouse fight, where Batman rescues Martha Kent from Lex Luthor's goons.

Ignoring for a second the opening and conclusion of that sequence (where Batman's famous 'no gun' and 'no killing' rules are burnt to a crisp in a hail of bullets), the opening is classic Batman through and through. It's also a brilliant recreation of one of TDKR's most famous panels, where Batman punches his way through a wall and takes down a pair of unsuspecting thugs in a dark and dingy warehouse.

It's a small nod, and while comparisons between the scene's choreography and the Arkham games are also apt, it's this little callback that had fans of Miller's comic excited the most.
