Spider-Man: Homecoming was a genius film, and though its callback to Amazing Spider-Man #33 where Peter breaks through the rubble was an equally unique reference to a classic Spidey tale, it was its nod to Miles Morales that got everyone talking.

With the character set to light up the big screen in the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as well as console in Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game, the future is looking bright for the Brian Bendis/Sara Pichelli creation. Throw in the added bonus of a potential MCU appearance further down the line, and Miles fans have a lot to be excited for.

First off, Donald Glover plays Aaron Davies in Homecoming, who's the uncle of Miles in the comics. When he references his nephew in the film he's actually talking about Miles (Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed as much after its release), and with a new easter egg based on the character having recently been spotted in the film's credits sequence, it's clear as day that Marvel have plans for the hero.

What a time to be alive.
