7 Unused Spider-Man Villains Who'd Be Great In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

5. Sin-Eater

Who Is He? Sin-Eater is the name of two characters in Marvel comics - one of whom is a Ghost Rider antagonist and the other who is more associated with Spider-Man. It is Stanley Carter, the Spider-Man foe, that we'll be focusing on here. Carter was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. whose focus was on research and development. During his time researching with the organisation, he was injected with a serum designed to increase the strength and endurance of the recipient. After all of his hard work, S.H.I.E.L.D. brought the research to a halt, deeming it too dangerous. This angered Carter and he became violent, resigned from the organisation and became a police detective in New York. His partner was killed by a group of thugs, which drove him to becoming obsessed with those who "sinned", taking advantage of his position to punish them. This brought him to the attention of Spider-Man. How Could He Fit In? He could fit in quite easily as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. At first, he could just fade in to the background - perhaps having one or two lines every now and again in both movies and the Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. television series - but he could then become the Sin-Eater in time for the Defenders Netflix series. Carter has run afoul of Daredevil in the comics - such as the time he killed Judge Horace Rosenthal, a close friend of Matt Murdoch. In a nutshell, he could be an ongoing character in S.H.I.E.L.D. scenes across the board, before becoming a one-episode villain in the Defenders.
