7 Ways Movie Theaters Can Be More Exciting

6. Have Assigned Seats

TheaterSeats

Years ago, I had a chat with a Russian co-worker of mine about film. He explained to me how big of a deal going to the movies is in Russia. They put it on the same level of attending the symphony or going to a baseball game. He said they usually dress up and consider it to be a big night out. And the best thing? They have assigned seats for each screening.

This would be a great thing to introduce to theaters everywhere else. No more rushing in and sitting in the front row craning your neck. You get to choose the exact spot you want to sit in. This would also encourage more people to pre-order their tickets ahead of time. I noticed my local IMAX theater started doing this and I absolutely love it. It takes some of the minor stress away from getting to a theater on time. Who knows, it might encourage us all to dress up for the occasion as well.
