There's been much ballyhoo about how Apocalypse is the closer to the prequel trilogy that began with First Class, with the focus falling squarely on Charles, Erik, Raven and Hank. Seeing as Jennifer Lawrence's star is at its absolute zenith, and that the actress has a seeming reticence to continue living with the taxing make-up process required to get done up as Mystique, don't be surprised if this is her last appearance in the franchise. Raven, having redeemed herself and turned from a life of villainy at the close of Days of Future Past, could go on to make the greatest sacrifice of all and die either saving the world from Apocalypse, or perhaps even simply saving Charles or Erik's life. Things certainly don't look too well for her in the Superbowl TV spot that went out recently. If she did die making the sacrifice play, it'd be a well-earned emotional moment and a pretty perfect full stop to the trilogy, perhaps even finally bringing Charles and Erik back together as friends.
