3. A New Established Team

With the new generation being put into place with X-Men: Apocalypse, including the likes of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smitt-McPhee), it's extremely likely that this'll be the core team of X-Men at the close of the film, ready to take the franchise forward with some sort of optimistic cliffhanger. With McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Hoult perhaps being shunted to the side, what with contracts expiring and growing boredom with the franchise (Jennifer), this new generation of mutants certainly seem to be being groomed to take over - especially seeing as one of the next films on Fox's X-docket is called New Mutants. With the team fully embracing tactical mode in Apocalypse with all the black leather you can shake an adamantium claw at, expect the team's mission to be fully in place, and the period setting to continue - perhaps into the early 90s, even. Depending on contract re-ups, McAvoy, Hoult and Fassbender could still all stick around, continuing their characters' association with the X-Men...
