The Amazing Spider-Man movies did a solid job of bringing Gwen Stacy to life, and Emma Stone was the perfect casting choice. She and Garfield had (pardon the pun) amazing chemistry, and it helped to make their romance one of the most engaging in superhero history. She's also got a lot of star power too, so getting the chance to see her enter the movie would be an epic win for Sony.
Her character's tragic demise was well executed, leading to her story tying up into a nice bow. However, it is time to pull that ribbon apart and re-open this character. There's no doubt her appearance would provide compelling conflict, as the circumstances of her death could provide emotional consequences for each version of Peter Parker.
Gwen Stacy is the perfect example of when the web-slinger fails and could act as an emotional crux to Garfield's (more on him later) involvement in the flick. So why pass that opportunity up?
