A left-field choice perhaps, but Tarantino has suggested in the past that he would like to work with Meryl Streep, and could you imagine her playing the part of the female member of the Hateful Eight? Imagine Helen Mirren in the RED films, but with a better screenplay, and I think you're on the money. Streep might have to have her arm twisted to take the part, given her tendency to stick to drama and comedies, but when someone of Tarantino's caliber knocks on your door, very few will say no to the opportunity. Plus, Tarantino tends to write extremely well for female characters, so it's unlikely that she would be undermined or simply labelled as "the girly one". Streep has played very comfortably throughout her career in the same sorts of roles, so if she fancies a resurgence, and the attempt at a different kind of role, perhaps it might scoop her yet another Oscar. Stranger things have happened.
